Demystifying the Akashic Records
(If you’re interested in a Soul Reading or a Shift Session and want to learn more about the Akashic Records, this is a good place to start.)
Entering the Akashic Records is your divine right. You don’t have to be anyone other than who you are right now to access your soul’s blueprint through all of time (this lifetime, past lifetimes and future lifetimes). Even still, accessing the Records can feel mysterious or even scary. We’re taught little, if anything, about who we are outside of a physical body. And most of us, me included, think (or thought) that we only experience our soul when it goes to “heaven.” Since the soul, and by extension the Akashic Records, isn’t something we can see, feel, hear or touch, there’s an even greater veil of mystery around it.
Let’s eliminate the label “Akashic Records” just for now. Naming the Records makes them feel like a place, when in truth “they” are an energy. Akasha is a Sanskrit word meaning space, sky or ether. If we think of the body as 3D, the mind as 4D, then the Akashic field is 5D, or awareness existing outside the physical and mental realms. Here’s another analogy. We use wifi (energy we can’t see) to Google what we want to know. We can use meditation, prayer or any process creating a shift from the thinking mind to a higher consciousness, to access our Records, aka our very own “soul Google.”
If you’re reading this, you know there’s an aspect of you that exists outside of your physical body. So it’s not a stretch to also know that you’re part of something greater. The Akashic Records is an aspect of the “greater.”
You don’t have to be gifted or special to use the Records, but it’s best to approach them humbly, with reverence, and above all responsibility. I look at entering the Records as a sacred tool and experience. You can use them in many ways, including co-creating with spirit in any creative endeavor, like writing, making art, music, etc. You can also use the Records to guide you through periods of your life when you need a little help. One of my favorite times to enter my own Records is when I have a question, need direction, want a higher perspective or am seeking guidance on something happening in my life.
We can use the Akashic Records when we’re seeking clarity or asking ‘why’ something is as it is. According to Edgar Cayce, the Records are written for each of us by our own freewill and choice. Meaning, each action we take has a “consequence.” And sometimes choices we’ve made and actions we’ve taken, in this lifetime and past lifetimes, are affecting how we think and feel right now. Accessing the Records is especially beneficial when we’re stuck, at a crossroads, keep repeating the same negative patterns over and over, or don’t know how to change a situation we want out of.
Entering the Records provides tremendous value when we receive validation, aha moments, peace of mind, or “answers” to why something is the way it is. One thing that’s important to note is that messaging from the Records will never tell you what to do, but can offer supporting information to help you decide the best action to take. Because we’re souls having a human experience, it’s up to us if we want to follow the “advice” or information received.
Another important thing to note: You may at some point hear someone talk about “clearing” your Akashic Records. We never erase anything that’s taken place in this lifetime or past lifetimes. Your soul chose those situations for a specific reason and we want to retain all the learning experiences associated with the lessons. But when you’re ready to move into a new chapter, you can through your own free will and consciousness acknowledge certain lessons as now complete, and release the soul and clear any negative energy associated with those lessons so you can manifest positive changes in your life today.
