If you’re reading this, you know there’s an aspect of you that exists outside of your physical body. So it’s not a stretch to also know that you’re part of something greater. The Akashic Records is an aspect of the “greater.”
Leaving your “baby”unattended?…
Not attending to the baby in my dream was a wakeup call for me to take greater responsibility for what I create, just like I would take responsibility for the task of raising a child.
Our (un)comfort zone
The ironic thing about our comfort zone is, well, it doesn’t always feel comfortable. It can leave us feeling bereft of what we truly desire. It can highlight what we’ve settled for, versus what we GO FOR. And sometimes when we stay in our comfort zone, we can’t help but feel let down thinking what could be if only…
When all else fails…
Students want a connection with you, but they also want to disconnect from whatever it is life is serving them at the moment. And that should take precedence. Lately I’ve begun training myself to enter class with a bare bones outline containing one idea, a short story to illustrate it, and a Rumi quote to help the idea hit home.
Finger food, or fine dining?
When a child picks up a tiny piece of food and feeds themselves for the first time, do we celebrate and coo and clap and praise effusively, or do we move right into the longing for when they’ll finally use a knife and fork?
Why we can’t go there…until we can
Why is it so hard to reach beyond the conceivable, safe and realistic growth space that’s just a teeny stretch out of our grasp?
A House Built on Love
Last night I dreamed our house was being torn down. I was sitting in a chair looking out the window and marveling at all the rubble that accumulated. (I know in real life if our house were being torn down, I wouldn’t be sitting in a chair looking out the window. But remember, this is a dream!)
